“Generally happy with Vision Tactical at HMA, especially Kaulani, who is friendly and helpful. However, I had very bad experiences with an old security guard who started recently. He says his name is Eugene. Twice, he has not opened the gate at the senior section because he was too busy chatting to his friend. Today, he decides to scream at me and was incredibly rude because he said I was obstructing traffic, even though there was nobody behind me. When I said to him he can speak nicely and not scream, he leaned over my child's window and threatened that he's going to watch me "even tomorrow." My child was on the verge of tears with his unacceptable behaviour!!”

“Your security team is not above the law, secondly they are there to assist it keeping the community safe, not putting them at risk, your driver has no respect for the solid line and other drivers by the fact that he knowingly had to force himself a gap after crossing a solid white line. Your “call centre” is also very uninterested when reporting.”

“I would like to take a moment to commend Vision Tactical for the outstanding security presence they have recently posted at Paramount. In particular, I want to highlight the exceptional work being done by one of your young security officers on site. who I believe was posted 2-3 weeks ago by the name Ona something but he said I can call him Ben for shortening his name From the very beginning, I noticed a significant difference in his professionalism and work ethic. He speaks fluent English, maintains eye contact, and presents himself with confidence and respect. What truly impressed me, however, was his proactive approach to security. I’ve seen him regularly patrolling the site—something I haven’t noticed with previous guards. He even checks the windows, and if he finds any open, he makes sure to close them. When I asked him why he goes to such lengths, his answer truly stayed with me. He said: *“My job is to prevent incidents from happening. Checking windows also helps me notice if someone tries to enter the house through them.”* That level of insight and dedication is exactly what we need more of in the security industry. Thanks to his presence, I feel safer than I ever have before. It’s clear that he takes his role seriously and that he’s been trained exceptionally well. I want to sincerely thank Vision Tactical not only for assigning such a capable guard to our site but also for the quality training you’ve provided him with. We need more security officers like him. Please make sure his efforts don’t go unnoticed—he truly deserves the recognition.”

I would like to bring to your attention an incident that occurred this morning in Upper Houghton involving one of your drivers. At the time of the incident, the traffic signal at the intersection was not functioning. As per the South African National Road Traffic Regulations, when a traffic signal is out of order it must be treated as a four-way stop, meaning that motorists must stop completely and proceed in the order in which they arrived at the intersection. I had come to a complete stop at the intersection and began moving forward when it was my turn to proceed. At that point, one of your drivers drove through the intersection without stopping and then proceeded to behave in an aggressive and confrontational manner from within his vehicle, including shouting at me. This conduct was both unsafe and unacceptable. In addition to failing to follow the correct procedure at a non-functional traffic light, the driver’s aggressive behaviour created an unnecessary and potentially dangerous situation. Unfortunately, I was unable to capture the full vehicle registration number, but I recall that the number plate included the digits “22.” I request that this matter be addressed internally and that your drivers be reminded of their responsibilities when approaching intersections where traffic signals are not operational, as well as the importance of maintaining professional and respectful conduct on the road. . I trust that appropriate steps will be taken to ensure such behaviour does not occur again.

Vision Tactical oversee the security in the complex I live in. We have been having countless issues over the past months with bad management from the body corporate (which I guess is a separate issue from the security aspect) but the security guards have absolutely no concern regarding the safety of the residents in the complex. The gate and boom gate system never work. A new system was recently implemented and it’s the worst. One of the booms is broken and therefore remains permanently open. To avoid “wear and tear” on the gate, the gate stays open during the day and is only closed at night. When entering the complex, residents are expected to open their window and scan a security tag to open the boom gate and furthermore, if at night, press the remote to open the gate. The intercom on which the scanner is on, is loose in the pavement that it is poorly bolted into and is leaning over, making it a struggle to reach. The security are constantly sitting and watching me struggle to open, having to drive as close to the pavement as I can and trying not to scrape my rims or hit my side mirror and then having to put my car in park and get half my body out the window just to scan a security tag. By the time I have done this, the gate starts closing. This evening I returned home at 11:25pm, it was raining and due to safety concerns and a 2 year old in the car, did not feel comfortable opening the window and doing all of that to try gain access to the complex (keeping in mind that the exit boom is broken and standing wide open with residents resorting to entering from that side to avoid the inconvenience of this system although I did not do so as I was just following the rules and system. The security walked out of the guard house and just stood there watching and refused to open the boom, posing a hijack risk (another resident was almost hijacked previously at this gate). Eventually after opening, he stated that it is not his job to open the boom and if we forget our tags and cannot open then only will he open. I fail to understand how this makes any logical sense? No consistency as they open for select residents but have an issue with others. Naturally, we got upset and questioned this to which the guard got annoyed and as we drove away, heard him swear at us. My husband stopped and went back to ask why he swore at us and he argued and justified his behavior stating that if we question things and get upset then he can do so. My husband said he would escalate the matter and left it at that. After getting into our apartment, my husband received a call from Vision control room and the security, Edward, who called was shouting and asking why we are harassing his guards. My husband told him that his guard swore at us and explained the situation and asked him if he is aware of the security risk and the boom which is permanently standing open. He refused to acknowledge this, continued arguing and then put the phone down. This is just one of many other security risks in the complex which are ignored by the security. I do not feel safe knowing the attitude and lack of security concerns with such a security company whose guards don’t even have respect for residents.
